imageA splendid day’s training today……….thank you as always to Roy Cullen, thank you to all that gave up their time to help with stuff prior, during and after training.
Special thanks to John and Kath Blackett, Mike Fallowfield and Stribers for the use of the land…….we so appreciate it. It was a bad forecast weather-wise but didn’t hit us until about 4.00pm and then it only threatened but we did get the tent and everything away quickly. The day was hot, but luckily we had water to go to.
My personal thanks to Pete Fallon and Katy Shuttleworth……..30 belted Galloway’s romping around the training ground was too much for me at ten to nine this morning – sorry for being hopeless!
I hope everyone enjoyed the day.

finally, thanks for the amazing cakes Katy Shuttleworth

Thank you Roy

And edited to say……amazing cakes Katy Shuttleworth

P1010165Well the sun shone…….the fleeces came off, not a waterproof in sight and the ants were out! Lakeland Gundog Club had a splendid day for training today 8 May 2016 with the HPR’s and Labs.

So the thanks……..firstly to Mark Keegan for allowing us to train the dogs on his land today, thanks also to Mick Curic (hope I’ve spelt that right) who has the shooting rights and agrees to let us use the ground in the off season. It’s great ground to train across, different terrain, hills, dips, streams and ponds and enables us to really test the dogs.

Our main thanks are to Roy Cullen, he again, has given up his entire Sunday, travelled miles to get to us, to advise us how to train our dogs to the highest standard and how to achieve this. As always……he can only advise and tell you how he would do it, it’s up to you to listen and put it into practice and if you do, you will get results.

Thank you to all that helped run the day today……….it was a real team effort. The tent went up, the tea/coffee and raffle was set up and sold and it was a great success. I’m not going to name everyone, as if I try, I may miss someone but it was a great to see everyone pull together to ensure everyone had a good day (although we did miss Pete today as we ended up with no milk and no cups at 9.00am).

So finally, our congratulations to Pete Fallon’s daughter Grace who got married yesterday……..we wish her and her new husband Jamie a wonderful life together. (Pete was obviously too busy walking her down the aisle to bother buying the milk and the cups yesterday!!)

The Lakeland Gundog Club (LGC) were back out training on the 2 March for the first spaniel training day of the season.  Despite the weather (it was cold at times!) we were out there with warm clothes and waterproofs and some eager dogs!.

What a good day, a lot of good information given during the session and to think about later, especially the advice ‘to think about what you are actually teaching your dog when you’re training and what the dog is learning from it’.

Many many thanks to Whaupley Gundogs for taking the time to train us, to our Club helpers and supporters as always, Julie, John, Pete and all. Thank you Caroline and Andrew of Workingline Images for coming along to take photographs of our dogs – enjoy the lemon drizzle cake (worth its weight in gold!).

Thanks to all trainees who attended, for your support, and we hope you enjoyed the day, but more importantly took something of value from the day that will help you train your spaniel.

We hope to see all the spaniel people again 1st Sunday in April and all our HPR and Retriever Members for their first training session next Sunday 9 March 2014.

Workingline Images have uploaded the gallery from the spaniel training day – please see  http://www.workinglineimages.co.uk/WORKINGLINEGALLERIES/CLUB/LAKELAND-GUNDOG-CLUB-2ND-MARCH/
