We hope everyone has had a wonderful Christmas and we wish you all a very Happy New Year. We resume training again in March 2017, first Sunday of the month for AV spaniels, second Sunday of the month for AV HPR/Labradors. We’ve got a couple of live game training days on before that, Thursday 19 January at Astley Moss and Friday 27 January at Abbeystead Estate. End of term test!

We invite entries for our ‘End of Term’ test.

This is a Club day for all breeds with separate tests for the Spaniels and the HPR and Lab/Retrievers with one test following on from the other. You will therefore have the opportunity not only to watch your fellow handlers, but watch and meet the handlers of the other breeds.
You will be grouped and tested with the class/handlers you have trained with throughout the training season.
All tests will incorporate training exercises covered throughout the season.
1st, 2nd and 3rd places will be awarded in each category

We encourage you all come along, take part and support this event. We want people to enjoy themselves, and experience running your dog on some nice ground, being marked and given feedback on your run.

There will be food provided as well as all the usual refreshments on sale during the day (coffee/tea and cakes) as well as a raffle, tombola etc.

Spaniels – Basic
Hunt up/marked retrieve/memory retrieve/marked retrieve in cover
Shot, canvas and fur/feather dummies will be used in this test

HPR/Labs – Puppy/Basic
Marked retrieve/memory/diretional retrieve/long marked retrieve/water
Shot, canvas and fur/feather dummies will be used in this test

Spaniels – Novice/intermediate
Hunt up/marked retrieve/memory retrieve/blind
Shot, cold game will be used in this test

HPR/Lab – Novice/intermediate
Marked retrieve/memory retrieve/distractions/blind
Shot, cold game will be used in this test

LGC Future Events

Sunday 4 September – Spaniel training, expression of interest email will be mailed to Members shortly.
Sunday 11 September – HPR/Lab training, expression of interest email will be mailed to Members shortly.

October
Sunday 2nd October – Club test day. Breed specific tests.
Expressions of interest will be emailed to Members.
This is a Club day we encourage all Members that train with us to attend. It’s a chance to learn and enjoy a day working your dog in a test situation. We hope to provide a relaxed day where you can take part, watch other breeds work, mingle and chat. There will be food and refreshments (always lots of cake)
Morning tests are for the younger/inexperienced dogs
Afternoon classes are structured for more experienced dogs.
We welcome you all……….and any help to run the day is also welcome.
